Celtics Game Analysis: Celtics @ Nets 4/23

The race for the Eastern Conference gets tighter with only 13 Celtics games left, including the game against Brooklyn tonight. The Celtics walk into the game with a record of 32-27 and are the owner of the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference, looking to move up for the playoffs. The Nets are as scary as ever, having a 39-20 record and are tied for first in the East with the 76ers. The Celtics have most of the squad healthy for the game, only missing Evan Fournier, Robert Williams III, and having Jaylen Brown listed as day-to-day. The Nets are looking beaten up, currently having five players out and one day-to-day. The players listed as out for the Nets are Tyler Johnson, Reggie Perry, Nicolas Claxton, James Harden, Chris Chiozza, and Spencer Dinwiddie, and Kevin Durant is listed as day-to-day. There is one key to winning this game for the Celtics, and it is to stop Kyrie Irving. Plain and simple.

Noah K. Murray

The 29 year old, ex flat-earther, ex Celtic has been on a tear all season, especially when he is the only star on the court. Kyrie is having a career year, averaging 27.4 points per game, 6.2 assists per game, all while shooting a career high 51.3% field goal percentage. As exciting as a Kemba Walker Kyrie Irving battle would be, it can’t happen. The Celtics need to hold Kyrie under 30 points, and a win is possible. With the loss of James Harden and most likely no Kevin Durant, the Celtics could run away with this win, but I doubt it will happen. I do expect a win out of this inconsistent squad, but it will not be a runaway victory. I’m predicting a 99-93 win over the Brooklyn Nets with a big night defensively all around, and a huge night for Jayson Tatum. Tatum also needs to play well, another player having an incredible year. On April 17th, Jayson put up 44 points against the Warriors, something I could see him doing against Brooklyn. The game starts at 7:30 PM EST in Brooklyn, thank you for reading, Shaney out.
