When I say being a Knicks fan has always, for lack of a better word, sucked, I’ve meant it wholeheartedly. Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train, it is the future of the New York Knickerbockers, something I am incredibly excited for. The Knicks won on Sunday 109-90 against the 19-25 Detroit Pistons, and it was oh so sweet. The Knicks with this win move into the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference only behind the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and the Milwaukee Bucks. This is the best start by us in a decade and the first time since I began watching they were above .500 on the season, and I’ve never been more ecstatic. The Knicks are now on a three game win streak and play the Spurs tomorrow at 8:30, but I will get into that tomorrow.
RJ Barrett played very well, scoring 21 points on 8/13 shooting, same with all-star Julius Randle, who scored 25 points, had 6 assists, and 8 rebounds all on 37 minutes of play. Our team played all around great as a unit, including the rookies Immanuel Quickley, who put up 12 points in fifteen minutes, and Obi Toppin who scored 4 points. One player I do need to comment on is Frank Ntilikina. He played awfully, playing 12 minutes not putting up a single stat besides a steal and a turn over, shooting 0/4 as well. I don’t like to jump to things off of one game, but this is nothing new from Frank Ntilikina, and we need to trade him before his trade value is non-existent. Not much I can say besides I’m happy, and I think we will for sure make the playoffs this year in the bottom four spots, and I for sure don’t think we’ve peaked just yet. Hope you guys enjoyed the game as much as I did, go Knicks!
