Here we go, Week 3 is here! The Jets are now coming off of a fresh new loss to the San Francisco 49ers, 31-13. The Colts are 1-1, and the Jets remain winless with a 0-2 record. To be honest, going 0-16 looks better by the day. Whatever it takes to get rid of this coach! However, let’s focus on this week’s matchup versus the Indianapolis Colts.
They are coming red hot after demolishing the Minnesota Vikings, 28-11. However, in week one, they lost to the Jags, 27-20. This team has flaws, but they are a darn good team. They have a great offensive and defensive line. They have Quinten Nelson leading the way on that OL, and that young man is a vicious guard. He will most likely have Quinnen Williams assigned onto him unless the Jets play him on the other side. DeForest Buckner and Justin Houston are leading the way on the DL, who combine for three sacks so far in this season. Becton will face the veteran pass rusher, Justin Houston. The Colts should be the favorite’s going into this game, after that win last week. The Colts will be without LB Matthew Adams and CB Rock Ya-Sin. TE Jack Doyle is questionable. DT DeForest Buckner didn’t practice yesterday with a back Injury, and S Julian Blackmon was limited in practice yesterday.
There’s a lot to see in this game for us. Lawrence Cager has finally been called up today and will suit up to play tomorrow, and we will get to see Becton and Williams go up against tough tests in Houston and Nelson. It’ll show what this team has in store. Darnold will have a challenging game most likely, due to the lack of WRs and RBs he will have tomorrow. However, the Colts don’t have the best DB group, so; there will be a chance for these WRs to show up. Hopefully, Coach Gase can incorporate rookie RB, La’Michal Perine, in the running game tomorrow since he’s now 100% ready to go. This game will show what this young and awfully coached team can do. I want a competitive game. I think that’s what all Jets fans wish to have. The Jets will be without RB Bell, WR Perriman, WR Mims, WR Crowder, C McGovern, RT Fant, and CB Wilson. CB Nate Hairston and WR Braxton Berrios are questionable. Those are some significant losses, but let’s hope this team can overcome it.
