#1 Warriors will become NBA Finals Contenders Again:
The Warriors have won 3 of the last 5 NBA Finals and in the 2019-2020 Campaign they took a hit with the injury bug and the loss of KD. But I firmly believe with the top 3 pick they get they will be competing again with a lineup of Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, and Wiseman. And their bench would be among the top benches as well with Jordan Poole, Alec Burks, Eric Paschall, and Marquese Chriss. Just in one year the Warriors have rebuilt a championship team and this is one of the more obvious predictions going forward.
#2 The Nets will be 1st in the East:
Well everyone and their mama knows that the Nets will make a big jump forward in the win column because of the return of two random guys named Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Nets as a overall team is really good, basically the whole Nets team that made the playoffs back in 2019 is their bench for the 2020-2021 season. Kyrie, LeVert, Harris (if he resigns), KD, and Jordan. That lineup has a lot of great potential as well as their bench with names like Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarett Allen, Nicolas Claxton, and Garrett Temple. The team has a lot of guys that can put up 30 any night and you can’t go wrong with all this talent.
#3 DeMar DeRozan returns to where it Started:
Now who wouldn’t like to see DeMar DeRozan return to Toronto for the 2020-2021 season, with his position right now in San Antonio he will most definitely opt out of his contract. The Raptors have cap to work with this offseason and I could definitely see the Raptors throwing him money. Do I think DeRozan could get more money elsewhere? Yes I do but he loves the city of Toronto, he loves his teammates that are still there, and he still has tons of fans there. It could do enough for his brand as well because we all know San Antonio isn’t the greatest place to expand on yourself as shown by Kawhi Leonard. The prebuilt chemistry with DeRozan, Siakam, and Lowry will make the Raptors one of the favorites to come out of the East.
#4 Hornets will have the Worst Record:
Well we know the Hornets kinda over performed this year even though they were still horrendous. So I fully expect them to be the worst team, Devonte Graham, Miles Bridges, and Terry Rozier are the only three semi decent players on that team but the Hornets overpaid Rozier. I see the Cavs getting better with Kevin Porter Jr, Sexton, Garland, and their top 5 picks this year. The Knicks will be getting better, the Warriors are gonna be good again, Timberwolves will be back with DLO and KAT. What I’m getting here is that basically every lottery team is on the upside but the Hornets aren’t looking too well going into the future.
#5 The Pelicans will be top 5 in the West:
Now this will be one of the more controversial takes I’ve put because the dramatic jump from 10th to 5th in the West is unheard of. But because of the way I saw the Pelicans changed when Zion came back I don’t see any way they don’t become a team that could compete with the best. Plus Lonzo is gonna get better, Ingram will get better coming off his All Star season, Jaxson Hayes will get better, and most importantly Zion will get better and hopefully eat less McDonalds. If you don’t see the trajectory of the Pelicans in the 2020-2021 season then you’re just a casual and need to sit back and use that NBA Free League pass to watch how Zion has changed the culture in New Orleans.
